Newsletter February 2022

From Sue

Hello everyone,

This is SeniorNet Kapiti’s first newsletter for the year and what a start to the year! We have been busy finalising Term 1 timetable and have started to draft Term 2!

A number of tutors were busy at Coastlands in Paraparaumu, at our first Open Day for the year. Here are a few tutors talking to perspective members who wish to join SeniorNet Kapiti.

We are looking forward to face-to-face classes, and will start with Term 1 on 8 February with a How do I…? session.

Newsletter December 2021

From the Chair

Hello everyone,

This is SeniorNet Kapiti’s last newsletter for the year and what a year its been!

Recently a number of tutors were busy at the Paraparaumu Library, helping people in the community to register for their Vaccine Pass and to download the pass to their smartphone. We saw a few SeniorNet members, who popped in with good cheer, and to let us know what classes they would like to attend at the Learning Centre in the New Year.

We are looking forward to face-to-face classes, and also to hear all about your experiences with your digital learning, over the past months. Again, I would also like to say a huge thank you to our Members for supporting SeniorNet throughout the year.

Newsletter November 2021

From the Chair

Hello everyone,

As you are already aware SeniorNet Kapiti is unable to re-open the Learning Centre with current restrictions in place.  However, we will reopen in Term 1, 2022 following Govt guidelines and the Traffic Light system.

We have started planning the Term 1 timetable already!  We are very excited to be able to offer ‘face to face’ classes at the Learning Centre in Term 1 to help you with your digital learning. Be sure to take advantage of the 50% discount… more about this below.

Also on our Calendar is a ‘welcome back’ to members which we’re in the process of planning, it will be a morning or afternoon tea.  We will send out an invitation closer to the time once details are finalised.

A huge thank you to all our Members for supporting SeniorNet during these difficult times.  We strive to offer consistent, quality content and services to ensure digital inclusion within our membership and community.

Technology is giving us all the opportunity to meet with friends and family and also to learn from home.  Please take the time to join a Zoom session or look at SeniorHangouts (more below) and pick up some tips and tricks that will be of interest and could help you or a friend.

Please also remember that if you get into difficulty with your technology, SeniorNet can help. Call our COVID Helpdesk on (04) 299 0754, leave your name, number and a brief description of the problem and one of our capable tutors will call you back to assist.

Newsletter October 2021

From the Chair

Hello everyone,
SeniorNet Kapiti is still unable to re-open the Learning Centre until the Wellington region is at Level 1, this is due to the tighter restrictions around Covid-19 Delta variant.

We hope you’ve been able to take advantage of some of the Zoom sessions over the last few weeks.  We have more coming along in the following week – we’ll drop you an email a day or so before each one starts.

We have some feedback from members that they enjoyed the ‘How Do I…?’ sessions.  We can ensure you that we will have these sessions on our timetable once we are able to open either at Alert Level 1 or when the new ‘Traffic Light” system is in place.
