From Sue
Hello everyone,
SeniorNet Kapiti Open Days!
We had two successful Open Days. A number of people joining SeniorNet Kapiti with others seeking information and taking away timetables and details about SeniorNet Kapiti.
Term 1 has commenced with members enrolling in classes. We also have a few new members attending one or two of the classes on offer.
SeniorNet Kapiti, Term 1 Timetable
Check out SeniorNet Kapiti Term 1 timetable, for 2023!. Why not catch a few classes from the offerings of courses or workshops that you would like to include during the New Year. Please see more below…
At SeniorNet Kapiti we enjoy sharing our technical knowledge and helping out generally. We believe that we all learn something new each day, so come along and join the SeniorNet Kapiti volunteer team.
SeniorNet Kapiti and the 2023 Census
Farewell to Elaine, who is leaving to go overseas, a valued member of the Tutor Team, at SeniorNet Kapiti
SeniorNet Kapiti, will say farewell in mid-March to Elaine who has been the Enrolment Coordinator for SeniorNet Kapiti. Elaine is still taking bookings for courses and workshops, until she leaves. We wish Elaine the very best for the future.
SeniorNet Kapiti, are reviewing how we can be of assistance to the community
There are many areas where we can partner with other organisations to be of service to the community, and we are keen to help out further in that area.
SeniorNet’s around the country will be assisting in their community where needed with Census 2023. SeniorNet Kapiti will help our local community if they need help to complete their Census 2023 online. Which are Monday 6 March at 1.30pm and also Thursday 9 March at 1.30pm. These two sessions will be held at the Learning Centre at 200 Matai Road, Raumati.
We will also assist at Paraparaumu Library, however, timing of the sessions are yet to be finalised.

Power Tool battery chargers
It’s possible that in the future you may opt for a power tool that has a battery charger with a USB port.
One of our Tutors recently read a report about power tool battery chargers, and thought this may be of interest. Power tool battery chargers showing that newer models of these may have USB ports that can be used to charge things like phones, laptops, or other rechargeable items should there be a power outage.

Yes, we are looking for an Enrolment Coordinator!
Do you enjoy organising? We will soon need an Enrolment Coordinator as Elaine, our current Coordinator, is off overseas in the March. Elaine will be hugely missed by the team here at SeniorNet Kapiti.
Do you think you’ll enjoy the role of Enrolment Coordinator? It will mean taking calls (a smartphone is provided) from members who wish to enroll onto a course or workshop. I’m sure this will suit someone who has an interest in people and helping them to get the best out of their learning experience. It’s also a great way to “give back” to SeniorNet.
Please contact SeniorNet Kapiti, on (04) 299 0754 about the above role and payment details. The Learning Centre is at 200 Matai Road, Raumati Beach.

Please Support our Sponsors
Please don’t forget to support our National sponsors – they’re important to SeniorNet and help us at the local level in many ways, including offering discounts to our members.
Always show your membership card and ask if there’s a discount for SeniorNet members – you might be rather surprised!
The best example is Noel Leeming where the SeniorNet discount extends well beyond computers to everything in their store but please be insistent that they scan your barcode before they give you a price!
Suzuki has recently reconfirmed their offer to our members of free on-road costs on new vehicles so it always pays to ask.
There are more details about the individual sponsorships on the Federation’s website here
