Hello everyone,
Hello, here’s SeniorNet Kapiti’s first Newsletter for 2023!
We have been busy getting ready for the two Open Days we are scheduled to complete in the next few days, please see below…
Have you picked out any of the classes that are on offer in Term 1? The best way to do that would be to have a look at the Term 1 timetable, and now that we are close to the start of classes there may be just the one for you!
SeniorNet Kapiti, Term 1 Timetable
Check out SeniorNet Kapiti Term 1 timetable, for 2023!. Why not catch a few classes from the offerings of courses or workshops that you would like to include during the New Year. Please see more below…
At SeniorNet Kapiti we enjoy sharing our technical knowledge and helping out generally. We believe that we all learn something new each day, so come along and join the SeniorNet Kapiti volunteer team.

Welcome back to our Tutor Team, at SeniorNet Kapiti
SeniorNet Kapiti, are pleased to welcome the Tutor Team back for 2023. We wish to let our members know, that we are here to help. Any questions you may have about technology, whether it’s a smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC to get the most out of your device(s). We look forward to seeing you at the Learning Centre.
SeniorNet Kapiti, are reviewing how we can be of assistance to the community
There are many areas where we can partner with other organisations to be of service to the community, and we are keen to help out further in that area.
SeniorNet’s around the country will be assisting in their community where needed with Census 2023. SeniorNet Kapiti will help our local community if they need help to complete their Census 2023 online. Details will be published with posters and other media, so that you are aware of dates and times once the rollout begins, scheduled for March 2023.

PENNY John Edward: Obituary
On Wednesday 23 November 2022, died peacefully at Charles Fleming Rest Home, in his 85th year. Dearly loved husband of the late Derna.
John and Derna were a fun-loving couple, who gave their time to their family and their community, and some fun times were had with sports! John was the owner/manager of Maidstone New World from 1982-85, staff and customers alike respected his professionalism. John was a great help to everyone he met through SeniorNet Kapiti. John had various roles on the committee and was also a tutor. SeniorNet Kapiti would like to recognise that John Penny was an Honorary Member at the time of his passing.

Yes, we are looking for an Enrolment Coordinator!
Do you enjoy organising? We will soon need an Enrolment Coordinator as Elaine, our current Coordinator, is off overseas in the March. Elaine will be hugely missed by the team here at SeniorNet Kapiti.
Do you think you’ll enjoy the role of Enrolment Coordinator? It will mean taking calls (a smartphone is provided) from members who wish to enroll onto a course or workshop. I’m sure this will suit someone who has an interest in people and helping them to get the best out of their learning experience. It’s also a great way to “give back” to SeniorNet.
Please contact SeniorNet Kapiti, on (04) 299 0754 about the above role and payment details. The Learning Centre is at 200 Matai Road, Raumati Beach.
We’d love to hear from you if you’re interested in the above role. Please don’t be shy, get in touch with SeniorNet Kapiti to tell us more about yourself, and how you would like to help. You can call the office on (04) 299 0754 and leave a message – we will contact you for a chat.

Please Support our Sponsors
Please don’t forget to support our National sponsors – they’re important to SeniorNet and help us at the local level in many ways, including offering discounts to our members.
Always show your membership card and ask if there’s a discount for SeniorNet members – you might be rather surprised!
The best example is Noel Leeming where the SeniorNet discount extends well beyond computers to everything in their store but please be insistent that they scan your barcode before they give you a price!
Suzuki has recently reconfirmed their offer to our members of free on-road costs on new vehicles so it always pays to ask.
There are more details about the individual sponsorships on the Federation’s website here
