Open Days

people-chattingOpen Days are to be held at the Learning Centre, 200 Matai Road, Raumati on Thursday 6 and Saturday 8 October from 10am to 2 pm. If you or a friend want to talk to us about SeniorNet and how we can help you get more out of your computer technology then please come along.

Tutors

Please note that there will be no Tutors Workshop on Thursday 6 October as there is an Open Day at the Learning Centre.  Open Days are scheduled for Thursday 6 October and Saturday 8 October a roster will be arranged for these days.  If you are able to assist at these Open Days, please give Shona a call on 905 1643.

Parking at SeniorNet – 200 Matai Road

bad-parkingPlease be considerate when parking your vehicle and make sure you end up inside the marked lines so that all car parks can be used.

Please also be aware that our carpark is shared with the Arts & Crafts Centre as well as people visiting the playground. mobility-sticker
No-one has preferential carparks and parking is strictly first come first served.

If you have a Mobility Sticker, please feel free to use the designated carpark near our front door – we hate to see it sitting empty when the rest of the carpark’s full!!

Course attendance and payments

We are trying to streamline the first session of our Courses which are being regularly held up with people making payments. To make the whole process more efficient, it would be very much appreciated if you could pay for your course when you make your booking. That way we can complete the necessary paperwork without holding everyone up on the first day of your course. Internet Banking is ideal for doing this and if you’re still nervous about paying for things online, why not consider attending our Introduction to Internet Banking Course next term.

internet-bankingIf you’re paying for a course online, please enter “Course” in the Code field and an abbreviated course name in the Reference field. Eg Man Data, Photo, Win 10, Beginners, iPad, Android etc. Remember you only have 12 characters per field. We would prefer that you enter your (initial and) surname in the Particulars field.

Tutors and Assistant Tutors Wanted

We always need tutors and assistant tutors so please contact Kuini at kuini.woolcock@gmail.com and she will discuss the options with you. Join our friendly and supportive group and bring your ideas forward for discussion. After every meeting members are heard to say… I wish I had known that… easy when you know how… I need to do the course.  Experienced senior/lead tutors are there to train you to become assistant tutors and this is also a great opportunity to keep up with all the latest advances in the computer world. Tutors also need to keep themselves updated so enrol in a course or go along as an assistant tutor.

Our Website – Staying Connected!

A lot of time and effort goes into managing the SeniorNet Kapiti website so that our members can keep up to date with what’s happening in and around The Learning Centre. We also use the website to inform our members about trends and happenings in Information Technology through regular articles written by Thor, Bunkshyde, Scangen and others (all members of SeniorNet). If you want to be informed when new articles appear, you need to go to the website and click on the Follow Button button which appears at the bottom right-hand side of your browser. Enter your email address and click Sign me up. After that you’ll get a short email from “Wordpress” when new material is posted. Your email address is kept in the strictest confidence and never shared with anyone else.
