Don’t know what to do on these chilly days? Well come along to the learning centre and enhance your computer skills by joining one of the classes being offered having fun and meeting other computer users.
Classes currently being offered are: Introduction to Computers / Email / What can I do on my PC? / Demystifying Windows 8.1 / Managing Data on your PC / Managing and Editing Photos / Introduction to MS Word. We are proposing to run several workshops and we need feedback from you to gauge the amount of interest and match it to the tutors we have available.
Proposed workshops are: OneDrive what it is and how it can be utilised / Smartphones, really a computer that just happens to have a phone and camera installed / Digital Camera setup and basic usage / Facebook, how to use. Do you want to keep up with advances that are happening in the computer industry? Then why not become a tutor? It’s a lot of fun learning as you go. Tutor training is ongoing within our group of dedicated tutors. Come along on the 1st Thursday of each month at 9.30am and meet the tutor group or contact Kuini by email at: lilnkuin@clear.net.nz for more information.
You are having a problem with your computer?
Then come along to one of the How Do I…? Workshops, the next one is on 28th Aug. 10 to 11.30am. Charges for this depend on the time taken but are capped at $10/hr max.
Also being run are the popular Questions & Answers sessions where you often have the opportunity to listen to a guest speaker and then to ask your questions. Thursday 21st Aug. 9.30am. Gold coin donation.
Tablets, whether iPad or Android, we run the workshops. Android Thur. 21st Aug. 2 to 4pm and iPad Mon 8th Sept. 2 to 4pm. A $5 entry fee. These are very popular workshops where you not only learn from the presented topic but also from each other. No need to book for these just come along; you will be made most welcome.
Due to traffic concerns we will be commencing our afternoon sessions at 1.30pm this will start from the beginning of the 4th term
