This will be the last newsletter of the year and we take the opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our members now including our Waikanae/Otaki members. Courses

There has been a very keen response to the last set of courses for the year, so good luck to all who are attending, we hope you enjoy the course and come away feeling inspired!

Workshops

The last of the monthly iPad workshops is on Monday 9^th December and the last Android Tablet workshops for the year are on Thursday 21st November and 12th December. You don’t need to enrol for these workshops, just turn up with your membership card. Fee $5.

If you have a specific problem, bring it to the last ‘How do I…?’ workshop for the year on Thursday 28^th November 10:00-11:30 am. Fee depends on time taken, at a rate of $10 an hour.

End of year frivolity

There will be Drinks and Nibbles for all paid-up members of SeniorNet Kapiti on Friday, 6^th December, at the Learning Centre, from 4:30-6:30pm. Everyone very welcome!  Partners are very welcome too!!!

Volunteer to be an assistant tutor

Now that you have enjoyed your courses and are getting more out of your home Computer or Tablet, why not join our happy band of assistants and come and share what you’ve learned, and keep learning. Teaching is after all the best way to hone your skills. Helping on a course is a great way to revise what you know and meet others on the same learning curve. Contact Lois Brinck 298 7797 to volunteer and join the tutor team.

Old Wisdom

After working his farm every day, an old farmer rarely had time to enjoy the large pond in the back that he had fixed up years earlier with picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and benches. So one evening he decided to go down and see how things were holding up. Much to his surprise, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee. As he came closer he saw it was a group of young women skinny dipping in his pond.

He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end. One of the women shouted to him: “We’re not coming out until you leave”.

The old farmer replied: “I didn’t come down here to watch you ladies swim or make you get out of the pond naked. I only came down to feed the alligator”.

Moral: Old age and treachery will always triumph over youth and skill.
