Update on the Doro Mobile phone

Doro 410

Doro 410

It is awfully confusing when it comes to choosing a mobile phone. Do I get a 2G, 3G or 4G phone, A GSM or CDMA, should it have a camera, or do I need a smartphone, does it need to connect to the net, or what exactly are my needs?

Well, if it is just a simple phone you need for the occasional phone call or text message, then perhaps none of the fancy bits hold much attraction for you.

YET, you do want to clearly hear the other party on the phone properly and you do want to hear the jolly thing ring when you are wanted, then perhaps the DORO with the big numbers, clear screen and extra volume when needed could be what you are looking for.

Telstra has just sent us this update on availability of the latest model:
Due to the popular demand of the Doro 410gsm mobile phone, we regret to advise that we are currently out of stock.
New arrival of stock is expected in mid-October.  We will update you again when we know more.
Due to the success of the Doro mobile, we will also be introducing a new model Doro which includes a built-in camera and an outside screen among its features.

So if you are in the market for a new phone you may wish to await their update before deciding.
We should hasten to add that SeniorNet Kapiti does not sell any products nor presently recommend any product to our members.
However, Telstra Clear is a sponsor of the SeniorNet Federation and as such pays a small percentage of your Telstra phone bill, when you are listed as a SeniorNet member –  to the Federation, for furthering our aims.

  2. This news about unavailable is somewhat old. Any update about the availability of the Doro 410 yet?
AQlso may I ask if this can be acquired by Seniornet members under the same terms as the last Doro phone offered by Telstra?
